Weds 14th Aug: One day to take a breather

It was a day to take a breath before the next set of new arrivals, this time puppies and a young husky from AFCD Sheung Shui, and as you all know we don't want to keep anyone not fully vaccinated at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre.  That means fosters are needed for all except the husky, and as an older puppy we hope he won't have to wait too long for a new home in this current unbearable heat.  To make matters worse (for me), our Foster Coordinator Cindy is away until the 25th so I'm going to be handling all of the fostering enquiries.  I don't have as much experience as Cindy does as she's been volunteering for years now, so I'm always in a panic when she goes away.  The email address remains the same, foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you're available to help out with the puppies, but please be aware that we ask that they be taken to our puppy afternoons at Whiskers N Paws, and sometimes Concordia Pet Care in Happy Valley.  That's obviously a problem for those living in the New Territories, but there are still others that you can temporarily house if you would like to help.

This Saturday
In fact we will be at Concordia Pet Care this coming Saturday afternoon so the puppies will be there too, and to make things easier we do ask that Adoption Questionnaires are completed in advance if at all possible.  You can find the questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt) along with other relevant information.

Benji's the first to leave
The first of our latest recruits left for his new foster home today, and if all works out with Benji and the resident dog he will be staying.  The others are having a holiday with my Lamma neighbours, for which I'm so grateful, especially as I'm regularly updated with lovely photos and information about the dogs' personality.
Suzie, Speedy and Magic, all young and very sweet

The only female, Suzie, was scared by the thunder the first night and crept upstairs to snuggle in bed with the foster parents, and in fact all of them are lovely dogs.  I'll be taking them to Whiskers N Paws on Sunday if they're still available, as it seems to be the best way for potential adopters to meet them.  However they are of course available any day if you want to be first in line.

Scamp may be Magic's brother as they are the same age
