Sying goodbye to sweet Frankie (and his cone) |
As promised, Frankie's adopter came to pick him up first thing and we said goodbye to this lovely doglet. He's been with us since he was a young puppy, and now at eight months of age he's still a smallish size and with such a happy and loving nature. His time in foster also taught him about living in a real home and helped tremendously, and we are always keen to move puppies out of the Homing Centre and into foster situations for this reason. They're not unhappy at the Centre but it can never be the same as a proper home. Please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you would like to know more about fostering.

Percy and Herbie |
Many of our foster parents end up adopting, or if not at least do their best to help find forever homes for their temporary charges, like this sweet poster for brother pups Percy and Herbie. They were in the litter that came to us as very young babies, and with siblings Harry and Fiona having been adopted on Monday we're hoping these two gorgeous boys will be just as lucky.

We have two events coming up this weekend, or three if you count the regular puppy party on Sunday afternoon at Whiskers N Paws where the Christmas Party will also be taking place. Take another look at Eric Tang's lovely photos of the available puppies, less those that have been lucky during the week

Our HKDR dogs and volunteers will be at Freespace Happening again this Saturday and Sunday! From 3-5pm, we will be running a workshop for dog-loving young children or adults of any ages to experience volunteering with dogs. Participants will be helping with grooming, dog-walking, feeding with guidance from our regular volunteers.
Please sign up on our website now if you would like to join this workshop:

Just as an update on my dog Murphy, he had surgery on Tuesday to remove his painful eye, and although having no eyes now I'm sure he's happier, or at least will be once his wound has healed. At seventeen years of age I know he can't live forever, and I'm grateful for whatever time he has left, and for the lovely Christmas gift from Melissa Tan of Paintinks by Melt.
