Thurs 13th Dec: A full house and full weekend

All I can think about, and even dream about, are puppies, puppies and more puppies.  On top of the six adorable babies we took in yesterday (and they will be absolutely beautiful as adults), there were a further ten pups at AFCD when I went there today to take out another dog.  That's a litter of seven, a singleton and two from Chai Wan Cemetery who look identical to previous puppies taken from that breeding ground.   The full litter are happy and healthy and at a perfect age for adoption, so they will be available as soon as they've been picked up, been to Acorn and had a health check and vaccination.  Of course they will also be wormed, an important part of the process since virtually every puppy born comes with a full set of intestinal guests.

Pudding 

We still need foster homes for the three week-old babies as they need to be fed during the night and kept in a snug place.   We can only leave food out for them and hope that by cuddling they can keep each other warm, but it's not ideal by any means.  If you can take a pair until they're a bit older please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com for detail.  We'll provide the special puppy food and milk powder that they need at this stage.

The dog I took from AFCD today was the third and last of a group that had been living in a boatyard before, and are clearly related.  Matrix will join the hundreds of hopefuls at our Tai Po Homing Centre, and if nothing else will have space and companions.  She's a sweet girl but obviously a bit scared for now.

This weekend we have the Puppy Adoption afternoon at Concordia Pet Care in Happy Valley, again on Sunday at Whiskers N Paws, and also something different happening in Central....
