Heather the Papillon is ready for adoption |
The Ap Lei Chau dogs fare better of course, as they can all stay dry inside, but the rain keeps adopters away and we really need to make some space for the twelve breeder dogs that are coming on Thursday. Thankfully we have foster homes for the five new baby pups, but we still have the previous litter who are getting better and gaining strength day by day. These were the poor little things that were also found in a rubbish collection point, starving and infected with tick fever and demodex, all except one miracle pup, Winkle. She is still very small, but completely healthy, and even due her second vaccination. It's hard to believe it's been three weeks since she came with her littermates, one of whom very sadly died, but now Winkle is very much ready for a home of her own. She's not going to be a big dog at all judging from her current size, so a perfect apartment dog for Hong Kong.
Lucky Winkle was the only healthy pup in her litter |
One of our adopters and avid HKDR supporter threw a fundraising party for her dog Bella at Whiskers N Paws today:
"I am happy to report to you that, this year, Bella has raised $13,498 supported by generous friends, Whiskers N Paws, the venue provider, and Hong Kong Personal Chef/Invisible Kitchen who sponsored Bella's birthday cake and all the special snacks for our furry babies.
Without the generous sponsorships from Whiskers N Paws and Hong Kong Personal Chef/Invisible Kitchen, our fundraising efforts would have struggled.
Thank you for giving me the chance to be Rita May and Bella's mom".
Thank you to everyone for turning up to support despite the awful weather, and making the event such a great success!
