Sat 9th June: Room for another at Whiskers N Paws

Goodbye sweet Hilary! :-)
As often happens there was a mix of happy and sad today, with the good thankfully outweighing the bad by a long way.  To start with there was an adoption at Tai Po as Hilary left the Homing Centre to start her new life, and of course we all love to see the adult mixed breeds get their chance.
Trilby won't need to be at Whiskers N Paws any more

Older puppy Trilby won't be at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday as she was adopted today, and Whiskers N Paws guest Pebble had a successful interview too.  That's double good news for us as it means another puppy will get the chance to move into the "halfway house", not an adoption but guaranteeing lots of attention, training and socialisation.
Pebble often helped out at the WNP office

We have a new puppy at Ap Lei Chau, a poor little girl found homeless and flea-ridden.  Now she's been cleaned up and been to the vet, but she has multiple bald patches so needs to wear a coat.  I called her Magpie because she's black and white, and although she won't be at Whiskers N Paws until she's a bit stronger of course she's available for adoption or fostering if anyone can offer her a loving home.
Magpie was lucky to be saved

The sad news of the day was the loss of our little Winegum, found abandoned in Yuen Long and picked up by AFCD before being released to us for treatment.  She seemed to be doing well and was a dear little girl, but she suddenly fell ill and never recovered. We are always saddened by the loss of any of our dogs, and for Winegum we had been so optimistic she would be fine.

Winegum's death came as a shock as she had been doing so well
