It's been a long time since Hill had a carpet to lie on |
It's often hard to remember what happened just the previous day as I start the morning having to plan a schedule for the coming day's dogs and their appointments. Thankfully there's Whatsapp and emails to scroll through to remind me, so I'll start with a happy update about Hill, the long-termer taken from Tai Po on Sunday. He's settling surprisingly well for a dog that hasn't been in a home for a very long time, so hopefully there'll be even better news soon.

Lovely Yum Yum |

Yum Yum came from this awful situation |
There was more happy news from Tai Po as Yum Yum was taken for a trial, and again everything is going very well so far. Yum Yum was one of the dogs from the closed-down shelter, a lovely girl who was unfortunately infected with heartworm, since treated.
Earlier in the day another very sweet Tai Po dog, Hailey, was adopted so we're all feeling good about the holiday.

Hailey is the sweetest girl, now adopted |
Over at Ap Lei Chau it was finally Sherbert's turn, and I think her adopters will be very happy with her as she's a lovely and very sweet poodle who is just a little bit shy. I don't think it will take long for her to come out of her shell once she is away from all the other dogs at the Homing Centre.

Sherbert is adopted |
A bulldog we'd been expecting turned up, and although he's a very affectionate young boy he needs to have surgery for not only desexing but to remove the large fold of skin on his face. This facial fold is pushing into his eyes and also causing breathing problems, and he (now Bruno) will look and feel a lot better without it. The immediate after effects of the surgery look quite dramatic, as though the dog has gone head first through a car windscreen, but that soon goes away. If anyone is interested in adopting a very sweet three year-old bulldog, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website www,hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt).
