Weds 3rd May: Hooray for one of the huskies

Lucky Freya was adopted today

I was very happy to hear that one of the huskies had been adopted, because not only do these types of cold-weather dogs really need to be in air-conditioning, but Freya and Boris were two "exhibits" from a cruelty case, meaning they have been languishing in AFCD kennels for a long time waiting for the court case to be heard.  It's totally unfair and unnecessary to keep live animals as evidence when it would be so easy to take photos, videos and written vet statements that could be used instead, but until the laws are updated that's the way it is.  I know that Boris and Freya are only two of the huskies involved in this case, and there are more that will be coming to us next week.
Boris still needs a home or foster

Saturday is Hero Dogs day, with our first event for a very long time taking place in Sai Kung.  With the weather being as unpredictable as any normal day at HKDR, I just did a quick check and saw (with great relief) that we'll miss the heavy rain forecast for the days following, so even if there are showers they won't spoil what promises to be a fantastic day for both dogs and their humans.

If you haven't registered to participate in any of the three routes, Army, Navy or Air Force, you are still welcome to attend as just a spectator and shopper. as there will be many stalls selling all sorts of dog-related merchandise.  There's also live performances starting at 3pm, so lots to do for everyone.
