I'd previously mentioned that there would be more huskies from the cruelty case coming, and today we took in two one year-olds. They must have been puppies when they arrived at AFCD, and they have spent the first year of their lives as case exhibits in AFCD kennels. I wrote before about what I feel about this situation of keeping live animals as evidence, especially when the outcome is more often than not that there is no punishment given. What a waste of a puppy's life to be stuck in kennels when it could and should be in a home. I suppose the best that can be said is that the dogs haven't been mistreated during their long stay at AFCD, but it's still totally wrong in my opinion. Anyway now these two young huskies are free and available for adoption, so if you can offer a home that's suitable for this breed please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/
I should also mention that the malamute that was found as a stray is now in a new home and she didn't need to come to us, so that's one happy result.
I can't stop thinking about how lucky we were with the weather on Saturday for our Hero Dogs event, because the rain hasn't really stopped since then and it looks as though it's going to stay pretty wet throughout the week. Just as a reminder that our Homing Centres are open every single day regardless of the rain, holidays or even typhoons, as the dogs have to be fed and cared for no matter what. That means you can visit any day to meet the puppies and smaller dogs and Kennedy Town, and the larger ones at Tai Po (just remember to complete the adoption questionnaire before coming). Also as a reminder of the gorgeous puppies that are still waiting for homes, here's the set of photos from Sunday's Whiskers N Paws puppy party again Puppy Adoption Day 7th May 2023.
