What a great day it was for the Hero Dogs and their humans as the sun shone and we celebrated being able to host our first big event for years. The first set of photos are out Hero Dogs I (Navy + Opening + Market) - Photos by Carol Chan so you can see for yourself the happy "Navy" dogs enjoying their trip to the beach, and more photos of the "Army" and "Air Force" will be coming soon.
The "Navy" dogs on board the ferry |
I have to thank too many people for making this such a success, but I should start with our own HKDR team who did such an amazing job on top of their regular work in taking care of the dogs. Perhaps there should be another category included, this one being the "Unsung Heroes".
Sunday is, of course, another party day, this time at Whiskers N Paws for the regular puppy event taking place from 2pm to 4pm. If you can't make during those particular hours, you can meet a whole bunch of gorgeous puppies at our Kennedy Town Centres, or at their foster homes by arrangement. Check out the Instagram accounts @why_i_foster and @archer_axel_hkdr for photos of some of the current puppies staying in their temporary homes until they are chosen by forever families.
It's not only the foster puppies that have their own Instagram accounts, as poodle Rebel also has one @sweet_pawtatoe, and if you're interested in meeting Rebel, or any of our other foster dogs and puppies, please contact Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com.
Giselle going home |
I promised an adoption photo of Frenchie Giselle, so here it is. She was a very popular girl and we could have homed her several times over, but there are many others who are just as lovely and without the inbred issues of this flat-faced breed. Giselle would benefit from facial fold removal to help with her breathing and potential skin infections, and it's very sad to think that any dog is born with such man-made features.
