Mon 4th April: How quickly the babies grow!

I've seen it so many times, but I'm still amazed every time a litter of newborn puppies arrive looking so tiny and helpless, their ears and eyes closed and only their pink mouths open and crying for milk. The babies are immediately whisked off to their respective foster homes in pairs (or threes), and the next time I see their photos they're so completely different, even though it's only been a matter of a few weeks.
The newborns on 23rd January

This is exactly how I felt when the photos of  Woody and William were posted on our HKDR Facebook page, and I'm not the only one who thought that William was the cutest little fluffpuppet, judging from the number of enquiries that came flying in.  As it happens, these two puppies - plus their sister Willa - will be moving to Whiskers N Paws this weekend, replacing the last two sisters (Lorna and Lucy) who were lucky enough to be adopted on the same day (by different families).  At least, that's if William hasn't already been taken home.   Cindy is just confirming with other foster parents if their puppies can be brought to Whiskers N Paws this coming Sunday to re-start the adoption parties, but even if not there will at least be two or three puppies that you can meet there.

I had really hoped that Opal, who was also one of the newborns that came to us and is now back at Tai Po as a one year-old, would have quickly found a new home, but sadly she's still waiting.  She's such a sweetheart who loves to play, and although I know it won't be too long before someone wants to adopt her.  Funnily. Opal's best friend at Tai Po is Watson, also now coming up to a year old, and Watson's brother was Wilson, another pink-nosed-small-eared "Little White" (since adopted.
Opal all grown up

We have another one year-old who's due to come to us at the weekend, and like Opal he's not a very large dog (we were told 20 kilos). "Baxter is energetic and enjoys his chewing toys. He does not chew furniture. He has never once barked or growled at another dog or person."

Baxter's in need of a new home

If you are interested in any of our puppies, young adults or seniors, please start by completing the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire with as much detail as possible.
