Sun 5th Nov: A challenging afternoon

Something has changed with the Facebook format making it impossible for me to link with the photo album from today's Whiskers N Paws puppy afternoon, so please go to our Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/hkdogrescue/ to see the lovely set by Jimmy Tsang.  We have so many beautiful puppies of all ages, with more arriving on Monday, and remember that if you can't make it on Sundays and would like to meet any of the candidates it can be arranged for another day.
Jack went home too

Kimmy was adopted today
Kimmy and Jack were the two lucky ones this afternoon, so all of the others are still waiting.  I have now worked out who is who out of the litter that have been with me a couple of weeks, and their different personalities, so adding names to the photos is possible.  Tricolour Betty is the most confident, and while it seemed that older boy Harvey was bullying her she loved every minute of it and kept going back for more.  Many visitors looking for a puppy to adopt misunderstand this type of behaviour and think that the bigger pup is being aggressive, but it's just the way things are.  It's a bit like an annoying little human kid wanting to hang out with their older brother or sister and being told to get lost.  If the younger pup is really being hurt or is afraid, it wouldn't be trailing after the older one wanting more attention.
Betty kept coming back for more
Linus

Also in Betty's litter, Linus is the middle one in terms of confidence while Turner is the quiet one who's a little bit shy.
Turner is the quiet one

I can't deny that it was a difficult day, with Rafi coming back from his foster home where he had settled so well, and best friends Paris and Jet also being returned.  Now that it's starting to get dark earlier and I have to get back to Lamma in good time,  I really need to pack up and leave by five o'clock but at the same time understand that potential adopters need to spend time choosing.  That's why I suggest that anyone who is really looking for a puppy that they come early and have a full three hours to make a decision, if that's how long it takes.

Some very good news at least, Josie has been found, and not far from her home.  I'm sure she'll be wearing a new and secure harness from now on!
