Mon 6th Nov: Happy Monday news

Rafi is just a big baby who needs security
After a stressful Sunday and a worry-filled night, everything started to fall back into place today and I could start to relax a bit.  I went to see Rafi, who had needed to move to a new foster home in the dark on Sunday evening and was understandably freaked out by the experience, and he was happy to have a reassuring cuddle.  After that everything went better and I heard later that he had already installed himself in the fosters' bed, so I think it's fair to say he's going to be fine.  Thank goodness for understanding foster parents.  He does still need a permanent home though, and the sooner the better as every move becomes more and more unsettling for the poor boy.
Susie and Carter back from their first home

Susie has been adopted

Thanks to more patient fosters and adopters, the two dogs that came back from their very strange home having never been outside and completely terrified of everything, have had a complete life change.  Susie has been adopted and is doing really well, and Carter is on his way to the same.  It really goes to prove that love and patience make all the difference and nothing is impossible.  Please note that both Susie and Carter are wearing their secure walking gear of Easywalk harness and collar at the same time.  Being careful means saving the tears and frustration of a runaway dog.

More good news from Tai Po as the first of our November Long Termers was adopted, and now Quinn can start his new life as part of a family.  He was one of my Lamma puppies years ago so it obviously makes me very happy to see that he has finally achieved his - and our - dream.

Quinn leaves Tai Po for the last time

Young Ruth, who had moved to Tai Po from Ap Lei Chau with her two sisters Nova and Dolly, was also adopted today, so there's double reason to celebrate.

Have wonderful life Ruth!

Ask us about wedding favours
Talking of celebration, a lot of couples getting married these days don't need or want wedding gifts and instead prefer to ask their guests to donate to charity, or donate themselves instead of buying wedding favours for the guests. For those who choose HKDR we do have acknowledgments cards available, and you can find out more by emailing Ka Yan at kayan@hongkongdogrescue.com.

I was back at AFCD today to take out more puppies, so there will be new faces at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday.  As a suggestion for those of you who aren't planning to go away for Christmas/New Year and will have a staycation in Hong Kong, why not foster a puppy?  Whiskers N Paws will be open on both Sunday 24th and 31st December too, so the timing is perfect.  Email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com for all fostering enquiries at any time of the year. We need you!
