Mon 16th Oct: Every Day is Adoption Day at HKDR!

9 month bichon girl with a broken leg
As I was stuck on Lamma today it was an uneventful start to the week for me, though there were new dogs arriving from AFCD Shatin and a bichon puppy with a broken leg whose now ex-owner was throwing out.  Of course Dr Tony at Acorn will try to fix it but we don't know what the outcome will be.  At the very worst it could mean losing a leg but that's not such a terrible thing when you still have three to run around on.
Boris is 2 year old

I also need to mention that we have two young bulldog boys available for adoption, both very friendly dogs.  Boris has been in a foster home following his surgery for entropian and facial fold removal and he's been doing really well, but the other bulldog in the home is old with bad hips so Boris's foster parents feel it's not fair on either dog for him to stay.

"Despite his lack of love and attention as a puppy Boris is a playful, friendly little bully (bull dog) . He's still got a lot to learn but already after only being with us for two weeks he's clearly showing how obedient and intelligent he is . He eats like a horse which is a good thing given his previous malnutrition. He's well behaved , great with other people and kids and now just needs a family to make him a great family dog. He's quite energetic for a bully but soon tires , likes to sleep and does snore but not too loud so you can still sleep . This little fella is a joy and deserves a kind home" .

If you are interested in adopting Boris, or any other dog please complete the Adoption Questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt).

Graham when he first came
The second bulldog, also two years old,  is ex-breeder boy Graham who is also doing really well in his foster home, and like Boris he has a really great personality.

Of course there is always a larger mixed breed or two in the with mix of smaller dogs that arrive from AFCD, and today we welcomed Curtis, a very sweet and lovely two year-old lab-alike at Tai Po.
Curtis is so lovely

We have so many really lovely, happy, healthy and friendly dogs waiting for homes at our main Homing Centre in Tai Po, so even if I tend to mention the smaller ones more often it's the beautiful mixed breeds who are more in need.  There are too many to mention by name, but you are welcome to visit and let our adoption team know what you are looking for.

Remember, Every Day is Adoption Day at HKDR!

We are very close to Tai Wo MTR or take a taxi from Tai Po Market station
