Fri 6th March: The pros and cons of social media

While there are so many benefits and good things about social media and the way it connects us all, we're all aware of the downside, the fake news and spreading of rumours.  Thankfully I think most people have been sensible about the one case of a pomeranian MAYBE being infected with COVID-19, but can I just say that if anyone is worried enough to want to get rid of their pets, please contact HKDR or any of the other animal rescue groups.  Don't even think about abandoning in country parks or on the street, as that's incredibly cruel as well as being irresponsible and totally unnecessary.

These adorable poodles come as a pair
I took some lovely photos from volunteer Harryn's Facebook page of the two poodles who were left with the driver when their owners fled the country, and this happy couple are such sweet characters. Although there is an age difference they're very closely bonded as I mentioned before, so we're looking for a home that will adopt them as a pair.

We're getting ready for Sunday and the Whiskers N Paws puppy afternoon, taking place as always from 2pm to 5pm, just as our Homing Centres have been open throughout any and every typhoon, virus scare, protests and everything else.  We will always be there for the dogs, and for any adopter who wants to come and meet them.

I want to thank everyone who donated following our plea for help yesterday, and to anyone who will be donating in the days to come.  These are challenging times for everyone, so you help is especially appreciated.  In case you missed it here is the post again https://www.facebook.com/111369775542430/posts/3121680897844621/?d=n
