Mon 18th March: Puppies are growing

We're starting to line up the beginning of this year's events and fundraising efforts, starting with the Flag Day which is taking place on Saturday 6th April, then later in the month an evening of laughs at the Take Out Comedy in Elgin Street, Soho, for a special HKDR show of Hong Kong's best stand-up comedians.  All details will be available soon, but if you want to mark the night in your diaries it's Tuesday 30th April 9 (followed by a Public Holiday so you can stay up late).

For the dogs we have a big day scheduled for Saturday 25th May with Summer Fun Day at The Pulse, and that will include all sorts of activities for the whole family so again please save the date and look out for details as they're released.
These pups looked like this on 6th March

It's been a strange past week as I've been on semi-sick leave and the weekend's puppy events were without the usual young candidates, but I know there's going to be a sudden avalanche of baby pups appearing on the scene at the same time, and those are the ones  already with us and just waiting to be old enough to attend the Saturday and Sunday afternoons.  We're being especially cautious at the moment thanks to previous outbreaks of infectious diseases that appeared out of nowhere after many years of absence, and doing everything we can to keep all of the pups safe and protected.  That means keeping them out of the public eye in foster homes rather than the Homing Centre until they have had at least two vaccinations.   Puppies grow and change so fast that the tiny youngsters that came to us on the second of the month are already coming up to six weeks of age, and very different from when they arrived.  By now they are very active, running around playing and wrestling, and they are available for adoption if you can take a pair, either for ever or with one being on a foster basis.  Please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you are interested in meeting any the the pups in foster.
