Weds 10th March: Will the poisoner ever be caught?

There have been quite a few enquiries about the new puppies, either those already with us or the ones due to arrive on Friday, and I have to keep asking that anyone interested in adoption should start by completing the questionnaire.  It saves everyone time if we can ask for clarification on certain points  as needed and make appropriate suggestions for particular puppies or dogs, and even which Homing Centre to visit.  The form is at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire.

Abigail going home

Two of three sisters who came to us at the end of February have been adopted, with Abigail leaving today and Amie going home once her new family have bought the suggested baby gate and other stuff in preparation for having a puppy in the home. Now only Alison is still waiting, and I'm sure the wait won't be too long.

Leyla is such a happy girl

Staff member Eagle is always posting photos and videos of the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre dogs and puppies, like this funny video of new puppy Leyla  https://www.facebook.com/HKDR.DOGGIES/videos/262238182152745

With more news about suspicious-looking pieces of luncheon meat cubes stuffed with capsules found in Kennedy Town, it appears that the attempts to poison dogs is spreading at a worrying rate.  Either these are copycat cases, which is quite possible, or there's one person or group planting bait in many different areas.   It seems incredible that nobody has seen anything or anyone responsible, and that no matter how many years this poisoning has been going on there have been no arrests.  It's easy to say be careful, or to suggest all dogs wear (basket) muzzles while out walking, but that's the wrong way round. We shouldn't need to be afraid like this, and I wonder if it will take the death of a child to make something happen.
